The AIM system is particularly suited to remote or challenging locations where the complexity and shortage of available trades makes conventional building systems inappropriate or unreasonably expensive. Some examples include:
- remote beachside or rural environments
- eco-resort, hotel or medium density developments where the benefits of repetitive production may be capitalised on
- sites with steep topography or severe climatic conditions
- development on leased land requiring temporary building solutions
- mining accommodation
- aboriginal housing and facilities
- eco sensitive sites where cut and fill development is not permissible and minimal excavation and impact on site are desirable
- low cost housing
